You've had a cup of coffee with the recruiter, had a nice conversation and you know: I want to work at Maandag®. But what is the next step? What kind of contract will you get? And what training courses can you attend? Ruben Wagenvoort is HR Development Manager at Maandag® and answers all your questions. ‘As a Maandag® professional, you become one of us. So, we are happy to give you an extended welcome to the club.’
Getting acquainted
First and foremost, Maandag® is curious about you. What drives you and what are your ambitions? ‘Maybe you are stuck in your career. If so, our recruiter will look for ways to get you moving again,’ Ruben says. ‘And of course they will tell you all about working at Maandag®. Based on the first meeting, the recruiter will see what Maandag® can offer you based on your profile. We will see what assignments are available and which ones suit you. We also consider the future: which direction do you want to go and what knowledge and experience do you need to do that? We also look at commuting distance, the expertise needed and the length of the assignment.’
The small print
You will soon be employed by Maandag®. Time to talk about terms of employment! Ruben explains, ‘In that meeting, you and your recruiter discuss the conditions under which you will join us. We base those terms on your needs. For example, the duration of the contract, the number of working hours per week and any training you want to do. We also have various forms of travel reimbursement. Of course, you also discuss what you will earn.’
Talking to the client together
You will also go for an interview with the client. ‘A job interview is always tense, but Maandag®'s account manager knows all about the client and the assignment,’ Ruben says. ‘So, they prepare you extensively for the interview and, in addition, accompany you.’ So, you will definitely get through that interview.
Welcome on board
If you and the client are enthusiastic, it's time for our onboardingprocess. ‘Because as a Maandag® professional, you become one of us. So, we are happy to give you an extended welcome to the club.’ We do this, for example, by making sure someone shows you around your new workplace. Moreover, in your first month, you will take the Welcome to Maandag® training session. You will get acquainted with the company and your colleagues during that training session at your Maandag® branch. You will receive all the information that matters to you as a Maandag® professional,’ Ruben says. ‘So, after that, you will know exactly how to keep track of your hours, schedule holidays and who to contact with all your questions.’
Your recruiter as permanent contact person
Once you are well up to speed with your new client, you are not alone. ‘Your recruiter is and remains your permanent contact person,’ Ruben says. ‘You discuss specific work issues with the client, but the recruiter guides you in your career.’ So, if you run into something, lack certain knowledge or are ready for something new, you can rely on your recruiter. Ruben explains, ‘We like it when you stop by or call, but you can also app, FaceTime or send an email anytime.’
Maandag® Academy
We think it's important that you can continue to develop as a Maandag® professional. That's why we make sure you know all the ins and outs of the Maandag® Academy. That's where you can go for online and offline training and courses. From 'Mindfulness and Vitality' to professional training courses, the Academy's has a wide range of open courses. There are also training courses focused on the fields in which our professionals work: education, health and welfare, government, IT, Finance and HR. With training and courses such as 'Make Healthcare Better', 'Teaching from the Heart' and 'Being a Substitute is a Profession', we have already helped hundreds of professionals take a step up.
If the course you are looking for not listed, Ruben recommends discussing it with your recruiter. ‘Then we will see how you can still take that course. Because at Maandag®, your development is paramount. We offer you plenty of opportunities to keep your skills up to date, take the next step in your career and go to work full of fresh energy.’
Free rein for your talent
Ruben has worked at Maandag® for ten years, eight of which in sales. From that time, he recalls a professional who had stalled in his career. Ruben then had an open conversation with him to find out what his needs were. ‘Such a conversation asks quite a lot from someone, because you are making yourself vulnerable,’ Ruben says. But we did get the bottom line: he wanted to become a specialist nurse. We offered him a learning path and appointed an internal brainstorming partner, who he could turn to with specific questions. He felt really supported and was grateful to us. 'I was not alone,' he tells me. And so it is: at Maandag®, we see your potential and pave the way for your talent!
