z/OS System Programmer

About the position
- Planning, installation, distribution, and administration of the z/OS operating system and its components (e.g., z/OS Exits, GDPS, etc.).
- Designing high-availability system architectures and developing recovery/restart procedures for emergency scenarios.
- Conducting performance analysis and implementing proactive system tuning measures.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive system documentation.
- Providing 3rd-level support within Incident and Problem Management processes, including coordination of root-cause analysis with internal and external support teams.
- Evaluating new technologies in the z/OS environment and preparing results for executive decision-making.
- Consulting internal clients and independently leading sub-projects.
- Participating in on-call duties (Rufbereitschaft) outside of standard service hours.
Job Requirements
- veral years of proven experience as a z/OS System Administrator in mission-critical, high-availability mainframe environments.
- Proficiency with typical software products used for control and steering under z/OS.
- Strong technical know-how in developing procedures and programs using Rexx and JCL.
- A structured, independent working style combined with high social competence and team spirit.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ability to adapt flexibly to shifting project requirements.
- German language skills are absolutely required. A B2 level will most likely not be sufficient; at least C1 is expected.
