About the assignment
We are looking for a Senior Embedded C Developer for a consulting assignment within a technically advanced product development environment in the Malmö area.
This is a hands-on firmware development role where C is the core programming language. You will join an experienced and collaborative development team working with complex products and an established codebase, where more than 90% of the software is written in C.
The role includes both new development and maintenance of existing firmware functionality. Your day-to-day work will involve writing, reviewing, debugging, and improving C code, as well as solving complex technical problems and contributing to high-quality, maintainable software.
We are looking for an experienced developer who can quickly become productive in an existing development environment, work independently, and contribute at a senior technical level from the start.
Responsibilities - Develop new and maintain existing firmware functionality, primarily in C - Write, review, debug, and improve C code - Investigate and solve complex technical problems - Work with and navigate an existing codebase - Contribute to code quality, maintainability, and technical improvements - Participate in code reviews and technical discussions - Support integration, testing, and verification activities - Collaborate closely with other experienced software developers and engineers - Take ownership of technical tasks and drive your work independently
Job Requirements
Required qualifications
- Several years of professional experience in embedded software and/or firmware development
- Very strong hands-on experience programming in C
- Solid experience developing and maintaining embedded firmware
- Comfortable working with complex and existing codebases
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience writing robust, production-quality, and maintainable software
- Ability to work independently and take technical ownership
- Fluent English communication skills
Meritorious
- Experience with Rust
- Experience with hardware/software integration
- Experience from technically complex embedded software projects
- Swedish language skills

You are comfortable diving deep into technical problems, understanding how software interacts with the underlying system, and finding solutions that are both efficient and maintainable. You combine strong technical expertise with a pragmatic mindset and enjoy collaborating with other experienced engineers while being able to independently drive your own work forward.
