Test Manager, tunnel engineering

For our end client, a partner responsible for the electrical and technical systems in a major tunnel project, we are looking for a Test Manager with a strong focus on testing and verification. Start date: As soon as possible  Duration: 12 months, with a possibility of extension Hours per week: 40 hours Location: Stockholm

As Test Manager, you are responsible for driving events to closure, oversee planning, coordination and execution of all test activities within the tunnel’s traffic-technical domain. You ensure that SAT activities are aligned with project requirements, schedule and quality expectations. This includes coordinating the creation and delivery of test documentation such as test plans, specifications and reports.

Given the scale of the tunnel, the high number of required tests and the technical complexity involved, you play a crucial role in steering the testing effort and keeping the overall verification strategy on track.

Another key part of the role is coordinating testing activities with other contractors and stakeholders to achieve an integrated test strategy for the entire tunnel system, including subsystems such as power, ventilation and traffic control. You will work particularly close to the Site Manager and Integration Leads, together with the rest of a multidisciplinary team. You will also oversee a team of site technicians and test coordinators who handles daily test activities.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Lead the project planning and execution of the overall test & verification strategy
• Coordinate test documentation (test plans, specifications, reports) across all involved parties
• Facilitate regular meetings on site in Stockholm and off site with teams in the Netherlands and partner organizations
• Ensure adherence to Systems Engineering processes, especially Testing and Verification & Validation
• Update and adapt the test strategy based on technical changes and new requirements
• Oversee the Test Coordinator who handles daily test activities
• Build strong relationships with customer representatives and contractors to ensure smooth collaboration
• Monitor and report on test progress, quality metrics and test coverage
• Preferably reside in Sweden (Stockholm area) or be willing to stay on site regularly

What do we ask:

• Technical Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Systems & Control, Industrial Automation, or similar
• Extensive experience in engineering environments, including at least 5 years in technical project management, preferably in Sweden
• Proven experience managing testing or verification scopes in large, complex technical projects
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies
• Excellent communicator who connects people and structures work effectively
• Fluent in English; Swedish is an advantage
