Senior Software Engineer - AI Development

Location: Linköping, on-site Start: September 2026 Duration: 6 months, with good possibilities of extension

We are looking for an Experienced Software Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment with an established international technology organization in Linköping, known for advanced product development and a strong engineering culture.

You will join a newly established engineering team exploring how AI and agentic development tools can transform the way software is designed, built and delivered. The team operates in a highly technical, product-driven environment where innovation, experimentation and engineering quality are central.

The focus is not simply on using AI tools to write code faster. You will explore how experienced engineers can effectively delegate development tasks to AI agents, review and evaluate their output, make architectural decisions and continuously improve the way humans and AI collaborate in software development.

About the role We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in new ways of building software.

You are comfortable working across the stack and understand what makes software well-structured, modular, testable and maintainable. You can look beyond individual lines of code, reason about architecture and quality, and clearly communicate what needs to be built and why.

An important part of the assignment will be experimenting with agentic development tools, evaluating results and sharing what you learn with the wider team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and evaluating software using modern AI and agentic development tools
• Working hands-on across frontend and backend development'
• Reviewing AI-generated code and ensuring high standards of quality and maintainability
• Making architectural and technical design decisions
• Experimenting with new development approaches and measuring their effectiveness
• Sharing insights, learnings and best practices with other engineers
• Contributing to the development of new ways of working with AI-assisted software engineering

We believe you have

• Several years of experience in full-stack software development
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and an understanding of clean, modular and testable software
• Experience with modern programming languages, preferably TypeScript, Go or Rust
• Hands-on experience using agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex or similar
• The ability to review code, reason about architecture and evaluate technical solutions
• A curious and experimental mindset, with an interest in challenging established development practices and evaluating what actually works
• Strong communication skills and an interest in sharing knowledge, insights and ideas with others

It is a plus if you have experience with

• Video technologies such as WebRTC, GStreamer or FFmpeg
• UX/UI development
