About the Position

We are now looking for an Hardware Integration Engineer within Electric Drive Systems for our client, an innovative engineering company within the automotive sector focused on developing next-generation electric drive units (EDUs) for passenger vehicles. The company works closely with international OEM customers and is involved in cutting-edge development projects shaping the future of mobility.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will play a key part in bridging engineering, integration, and communication across teams and geographies. You will be responsible for ensuring that hardware designs are successfully integrated into the vehicle environment and aligned with customer expectations. You will act as an important link between internal engineering teams and the external customer, driving progress, following up on deliverables, and ensuring technical feasibility.
The position sits within a dedicated project team of approximately 10 people, led by a project manager and supported by a broader hardware organization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced electric propulsion systems while working in a dynamic, international setting!
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main technical interface towards the customer in an international project environment
- Coordinate and follow up on hardware deliveries, validation, and integration status
- Ensure designs fit within the vehicle package, considering space constraints, cabling, hoses, and assembly feasibility
- Work with CAD (Catia) to review and understand design layouts and interfaces
- Support development and adaptation of components for a specific customer application
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and project management teams
- Drive communication and alignment across stakeholders to keep the project moving forward
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, we believe that you are a professional, structured, and service-minded individual who communicates clearly and builds trust with customers and colleagues alike. Other than that, we are looking for:
- Background in mechanical design or engineering, preferably within automotive
- Understanding of vehicle packaging and hardware integration principles
- Experience or familiarity with CATIA (or similar CAD tools)
- Knowledge of cast components and manufacturing processes, with a sense of what is feasible to modify
- Experience working with driveline components or similar systems is a strong advantage
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international environment
- Fluent in English; additional languages such as Chinese or German are a plus
