Function Developer - Engine Control Systems

We are looking for a Function Developer for a consulting assignment within advanced automotive engineering. You will join an experienced development team working with engine control software for petrol and hybrid powertrains. The role focuses on developing, testing and validating control functions related to air charge estimation and control, combining model-based software development with analysis and practical testing.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work throughout the development process, from function design and implementation to testing, evaluation and verification. Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and improve control functions for petrol and hybrid powertrains
• Work with functions related to air charge estimation and control
• Develop embedded control software using MATLAB and Simulink
• Work with model-based development tools such as Embedded Coder and TargetLink
• Test, analyse and validate developed functions
• Perform simulations and support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing
• Analyse test results and troubleshoot function behaviour
• Plan, document and report development and verification activities
• Collaborate with software, calibration, testing and powertrain engineers

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or a similar technical field
• Experience in embedded systems or function development
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
• Experience with model-based software development
• Knowledge of Embedded Coder, TargetLink or similar tools
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Professional proficiency in English
  
  
  

It is not a must, but an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and engine control systems
• Academic or professional experience within combustion engines, electronics or software development
• Experience with SIL testing
• Programming experience in Python
• Previous experience from automotive or powertrain development
• A valid B driving licence
• Swedish language skills
