About the position
For our client we are looking for a Senior Embedded Android Developer for a consulting assignment within an advanced R&D environment focused on high-performance embedded systems. As a consultant, you will work in a cutting-edge development setting where hardware and software integration is essential to delivering reliable, optimized, and production-ready solutions. You will join an Embedded Systems team and collaborate with experts in software, electronics, and system engineering. The focus is on developing and integrating Android-based platforms in battery-powered and performance-critical systems. Your responsibilities will include: -Development and integration of drivers for LCD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and embedded camera subsystems -Implementation and optimization of video pipelines and streaming solutions -Embedded Android platform development and hardware layer customization -Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, production-ready solutions -Power management and performance optimization for embedded devices You will work across the entire technology stack – from kernel and system layers to framework and application – delivering solutions that meet stringent requirements for quality and scalability. We seek a solution-oriented and technically strong developer who thrives in cross-functional teams. You are passionate about solving complex problems and building robust, production-grade systems. Experience in R&D environments and hardware-centric development is highly valued, particularly in systems requiring high reliability, performance optimization, and seamless hardware-software integration.
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of Android’s hardware abstraction layer and embedded system development
- Experience with AOSP, BSP bring-up, and Android system customization
- Knowledge of driver development, HAL layers, and Linux/Android kernel engineering
- Experience with multimedia processing and streaming solutions
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Yocto, and Android build systems
- Relevant university degree in engineering or computer science
- Fluency in English; Swedish is a plus
