Tim Verhappen explains how Maandag® helped him advance in his professional development and career, resulting in him now working as a Financial Economic Crime Analyst at Rabobank, a position he always wanted.
In mid-2022, Maandag® acquired Quinnoah Consulting, a national secondment provider of highly skilled finance professionals. All 55 employees, including Tim, moved with the company to Maandag®.
Smooth transition
Tim tells how the transition went almost unnoticed. ‘From the beginning, Maandag® has done everything possible to ensure a smooth transition,’ he begins. ‘That allowed me to just keep working at the company where I was seconded at the time. So, I noticed little of the transition in my day-to-day work. It also helped that my current business manager at Maandag® was a former colleague,’ he continues.
Maandag® brought new opportunities
Tim's interim assignment ended at the end of 2022. ‘I then talked to Maandag® about my ambitions and possibilities. I found that the switch to Maandag® brought with it all kinds of new opportunities − also outside the financial sector,’ he says. ‘In my six months at Maandag®, I soon understood that real professionals ran the finance branch. I was positively surprised by the wide range of assignments as well as training opportunities,’ he continues.
A new job thanks to training
Tim's interest was piqued in the field of Customer Due Diligence (CDD), in which investigations are conducted into the integrity of customers of financial institutions such as banks. ‘Through Maandag®, I attended the CDD analyst course, after which I was able to start working at Rabobank as a Financial Economic Crime (FEC) analyst. A challenging position with a great client,’ he says proudly.
In his new role, Tim investigates the bank’s current and new corporate customers and contributes to a safer financial world. ‘I put money flows, corporate structures and people in and around companies under the magnifying glass to identify specific risks. Such as the risk of money laundering, fraud or terrorist financing. This is not only to prevent abuse of the bank, but also to protect the customers themselves,’ Tim explains.
Regular contact with colleagues
At Maandag®, Tim soon got acquainted with the pleasant family atmosphere. ‘The introduction day, not long after I joined, made me feel right at home within the organisation. There are also quarterly drinks, where you can meet existing and new fellow finance professionals and share experiences. That creates a sense of belonging, even if you are seconded to different clients,’ Tim experiences.
Trusting Maandag® when taking new steps
Barely a year into his current role, Tim has no concrete plans for the future. ‘There are still many development opportunities for me in my current position, which I really enjoy. In any case, CDD really appeals to me, and I can see myself growing within this field at some point,’ he says. ‘In any case, I am convinced that if I want to take steps in my career, I can count on the support of Maandag®,’ Tim concludes.
Are you looking for challenge and variety, and would you like to work for various clients on a permanent basis? Maandag® has a wide range of interesting assignments for finance professionals like you and Tim, with plenty of focus on your professional development and growth.
