About the Position
- Develop high-value backend features that support integration with frontend and external services.
- High-quality codebase in terms of maintainability, usability, reliability, portability, scalability, security, testability, reusability, modularity etc.
- Minimal defects and technical debts.
- Architecture is understood and implemented as designed
- Design and implement server-side logic, API’s and data models using backend technologies
- Writing and testing code for backend functionalities as well as ensuring backend reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with other developers, testers, DevOps engineers and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth development lifecycle.
- Reviewing code written by peers.
- Writing unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability.
- Debugging and resolving backend issues, optimize queries and workflows.
- Updating documentation related to development processes.
- Supporting the Product Owner to ensure high-quality requirements.
- Participate in Daily scrums, Sprint Planning, -Review and -Retrospective ceremonies.
Key competences
- Strong proficiency in server-side programming languages and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of databases, APIs and backend architecture
- Ability to break down tasks, debug, and troubleshoot issues.
- Sensibility for high code quality.
- Team player, communicates effectively with peers and stakeholders.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies as required.
Job Requirements
MUST HAVE skills and experience:
At least 3 years of professional experience as a developer with the following technologies in projects with at least 3 developers (frontend and/or backend) in projects of similar complexity from the last 5 years:
- Java
- Kafka
- English language skills: Level C1 or higher
NICE TO HAVE:
At least 3 years of professional experience as developer with the following technologies in projects with at least 3 developers (frontend and/or backend) in projects of similar complexity from the last 5 years.
- Full Stack Java Framework, i.e. Quarkus
- Workflow Automation, i.e. Camunda
- Observability tools
- Please provide Certifications for each topic if available
- Experience in documenting APIs, events, and parameter contracts
- Experience with release strategies such as feature toggles or dark launches
- Experience with established strategies for performance tuning
- Can instrument, trace, and monitor microservices end-to-end
- Experience in observability & operation: Structured logs, metrics, tracing, Health checks, readiness/liveness probes
- Use of the development platform Maven / Github.
- Experience with agile methods
